Companies and Producers

More than 600 producers of the Baix Vinalopó, L ‘Alacantí and Vega Baja have registered until July 2016 (registrations will remain open for the coming months) in the Regulatory Council for its production to be labelled and marketed with the seal of the Protected Designation of Origin.

Within the registry we might include the significant presence of women which brings about 30% of the inscriptions of the Designation of Origin which endorses the important role that women play in rural areas and its commitment to defend local products.

We must also highlight the work done by agricultural unions (ASAJA, La Unió de Llauradors I Ramaders, and the Community of Farmers and Ranchers) that from the beginning have been present in the Association of Producers and Distributors of Pomegranates of Elche, next to other companies, worked hand in hand to ensure that the local pomegranate obtained the protected Designation of Origin.
